Forsyth County Board of Commissioners initiated a Conditional Use Permit application ( to allow CW Matthews to build a new asphalt plant in a site near Johns Creek Town Center (0.65 miles from the intersection of Mcginnis Ferry and 141). On 11/21/2019, more than 600 residents gathered in county's Board of Commissioners meeting to express their concerns on this application. County has postponed the voting to 1/9/2020. Please review the application to decide if you want to support or oppose this new plant being built near Johns Creek.

·       Proposed 90ft structure (7 floor) which will be likely visible from the surrounding streets and buildings;

·       Proposed around the clock operation, resulting in continuous fume, noise, illumination, dust, and odor;

·       Moving to a plant site closer to more residential homes, and businesses including day care centers, and health care facilities, etc;

·       County initiated the fast track application without following the regular review and public notice process

·       CDC reported as Hazard Review: Health Effects of Occupational Exposure to Asphalt
