Policy about Venturing in the Order of the Arrow.

Within the Boy Scouts is a program called The Order of the Arrow (OA). This program is scouting's national honor society. Its purpose is to recognize those who stand out as a leader within their unit. This includes males from a venture crew, as long as they have met the camping requirements and attained the first class rank. Meaning they can register in both a troop and crew to be inducted into the OA. In a Venture Crew there are both males and females. Females above the age 21 can be inducted. But not females 14-20. Venture crews work hard to make an impact on scouting as a whole. It is not fair to recognize them as a leader because the OA goes with the troop not venture crews. This needs to change. We are about the only Boy Scouting organization that is not coed in this world . Its time that we as an organization come together as a unit and allow females into our honor society.
