We, the undersigned, are registered members of the Piapot First Nation. We are expressing our concerns about the lack of transparency and accountability of our elected leadership.  Specifically, the Chief and Council have not held annual Band Membership and Audit meetings for years.  The Chief and Council have been withholding and providing misleading information on the governance, administration and management of our resources.  We feel that the Chief and Council are using their position for profit, personal gain and political gain. The leadership have received new homes along with their family members and close supporters.  The Chief and Council have created a toxic environment where we have Court-Certified criminals holding public office.                                                           

We feel that the Chief and Council are not upholding our Inherent Treaty Rights and moving the band into a fourth-level government under Provincial Jurisdiction. 

The governance, administration and management of our governing body are abusing their authority and misusing band funds. As membership we feel our collective rights are not protected.  We demand consultation and full disclosure of all Band Council Resolutions, Minutes, Memorandum of Understanding, Funding Agreements (CMHC, Health Canada etc.), Partnership Agreements, Audits (Kehiew Holdings Inc, TLE, Specific Claim, Creeland Regina and Prince Albert, Weed Store) along with access to Ledger’s.

To support this cause, consider these key facts:

1. Forensic Financial Audit will review and examine the financial status of the band funding.
2. Digital Investigation will examine emails, text messages and computers for evidence
3. Our Nation will become a 4th level government and all our reserve lands can be sold, mortgaged or the Chief and Council can obtain loans.

1. Provide the truth behind the spending of Band Funds.
2. Meaningful Consultations on the policies, legislation/acts and procedures, such as the First Nations Election Act.
3. Transparency and Accountability to all Membership.
