As a graduate of Fordham University, I am incredibly disappointed with Fordham's decision to host Ann Coulter. Her inflammatory and offensive language is in complete opposition with Fordham's mission and values.

I am an alumna of Fordham University and I would not like to be an alumna of "the school that invited Ann Coulter to speak." Fordham champions their Jesuit values and education and yet will also give someone a platform to spew hate and bigotry.

As a Fordham student, I find the fact that there is any chance of someone who disvalues women, minority groups, and people who oppose her views in general extremely disconcerting. I cannot believe that someone filled with so much hatred (and misinformation!) could even be paid for her appearance. So disappointed in the poor choice of our Republican Students Club.

The right to free speech does not mandate providing a platform for a woman who is nothing but a hatemonger and a provocateur. The university tell their Republican students that they are out of line, and overrule them.

The use of the r word is hateful. It is a shame such a good university is still inviting her to speak!

Ann Coulter has made a living using vulgar language and repulsive, extremist viewpoints that promote bigotry, racism, sexism, etc. She in no way represents the values that I believed Fordham to represent.

Please Fordham, I urge you to listen to the overwhelming response of the current student body and alumni and do not allow this individual to have a platform to further promote her hateful rhetoric.

If this invitation stands, I will NEVER donate another dollar to the school.

While I respect the position of of most commentators on this page, in particular Sophie Stanish, I have to disagree with the premise that Fordham University stands for the values that are intrinsic in a Jesuit education (or for that matter to what ought to be a Christian education); Fordham, is a conservative institution ran by a leadership that does not practice what they profess. Inviting Ann Coulter is in character with a University that has had the head of the CIA speak a commencement and is closely aligned with neo-conservative administrations... Just ask the minorities that work for the University or the minuscule number of minority students that are allowed to walk through the gates a University smack in the middle of one of the poorest neighborhoods in the Bronx. Ask for the statistics about the proportion of minority professors in staff...
Yes, Ann will have a large and enthusiastic audience beginning withe the top levels of the school administration...
