Fordham University's Support of the Fordham Rd Clean Up

Fordham University's Support of the Fordham Rd Clean Up
Why this petition matters
From our first day of Orientation at Fordham, we are told "Fordham is my school, New York is my campus." Led by this mindset, Fordham students and faculty take to enjoying everything the Fordham and Belmont neighborhood have to offer. They have supported all of our endeavors. Now, it is time for us to stand up for the community we so readily use and rely on. While most students have left due to the COVID-19 outbreak, many are looking to help from wherever they now find themselves.
Fordham University spends mass amounts of annual funds to maintain their gated community. However, the University's current focus must turn to our surrounding community in relief and clean-up efforts. Fordham not only has the means, but also the responsibility to support the Bronx community. The University must use its privilege to play an active role and stand with its surrounding neighborhood. We call upon Father McShane and the University's administration to use Fordham's resources in clean up efforts and relief projects, so that the University may support the surrounding community as they have for us.
