Ford Mustangs started arriving in Australia from late 2015 after extensive wait times of up to 18 months. On receipt of cars from owners there have been recurring problems in consistent areas. For example Body panel fitting problems, poor paintwork that is just covering visible areas of the car Body and not sufficiently covering under panel folds and undersides of panels, Also boot lids are rubbing on back bumpers, and oil coolers are failing in under 12 months. Many Mustang owners are getting similar responses from their Australian Ford dealer saying it's Ford USA problem and while some are being covered under warranty, owners are worried about the long term problems that may or may not be rectified by their local dealers. Given an outlay of some $61000 for a 5 litre vehicle this quality inconsistency and lack of recognition to fix the issues starting from 2015 and continued to 2017 is unexcepable.
