Please sign my petition to force schools to offer dairy free food and drink options in regular school lunches. Children should have other options for drinks besides milk with a regular school lunch. Secondly, children should have dairy-free food options offered to them in the lunch line. Our school only offers milk with a regular lunch. Any other drink costs extra, including water. I have contacted the school about this issue. When I spoke with the school staff, they suggested I have my child pack a lunch or bring in a drink of their own. This is not always an option especially for low income families. Not to mention the lockers at my child's school are tiny and barely fit a bookbag let alone a suitable lunch bag. Children cannot control their diet intolerances. My child's school doesn't even offer a burger without cheese. They pre-make them with cheese and wrap them up to serve. My lactose Intolerant child had 2 options for lunch today. Her choices were, a cheese burger or a cheese covered pizza, neither of which she could eat. The majority of the foods they make contain cheese. Schools need to offer dairy free options for our children. Please sign this petition to make schools care about our lactose Intolerant children.
