This coming school year has planned to have the days from 8:45 to 4:07. Our previous schedule was 9:00 to 3:34. 48 minutes added to ONE school day. This dramatic and unreasonable increase in time is unhealthy for us teenage students. With extracurricular activities, jobs, clubs, sports and other similar programs either having to shorten practice/performance/meeting times/etc., or keeping students later than normal at school. The dismissal time is abnormal, unhealthy, and absurd. Teenagers need time after school with family and/or friends. Schools also want students to have healthy sleep schedules, but make it difficult with adding 48 minutes to an already successful schedule. Students of WMHS have shown frustration and so have parents. This is unreasonable nor is needed. Students need LIFE.
