This is a Petition to have 29 year West Brighton Native Peter Pellegrito's childhood street address named after him . Peter passed away abruptly February 1, 2015 after suffering a brain aneurysm which is a result of a complication of Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) . An extremely rare disease that you are born with and usually goes undetected .
Most of you who are reading this already know him , and for those of you who do not . Peter grew up in West Brighton, the oldest of three boys with His parents, Sue and Julius Pellegrito . Peter's selfless acts began in grade school where he volunteered as a alter server and later on became a Religious instructor at Sacred Heart Church . A glimpse of Peter’s life would show you that after graduating Scared Heart, he attended Monsignor Farrell High School. During his junior year he worked as a parking attendant at Harmon Funeral Home in West Brighton. Being the kind hearted person he was , during cold winter months , Peter would warm up the cars of the elderly guests at Harmon Funeral Home. Then he would escort them to their cars to assure safety . Peter grew a love for the restaurant business and he landed a job at American Grill on Forest Avenue shortly after it opened. He also worked at Vida in Stapleton and a Taste of Honey in Travis. After graduating from Monsignor Farrell in 2003, Peter attended Wagner College graduating with a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Marketing. Peter was one of the few students to enter the Accelerated Master’s program and earn a M.B.A . Even after death Peter gave back to those in need . While in the hospital his parents looked at his drivers license and saw that he was already a registered organ
donor .Something anyone who knows Peter would not be surprised about. Most people at such a young age don't even think of things like this, but Peter always thinking of others had made that decision early on. All of Peters organs were donated to recipients of New York City , he was able to save many lives from
His generous donation .
A bench was named in his honor at Wagner college. Where he has a permanent spot for people to honor him at a place he loves so much . This alone shows what a remarkable young man he was and how much people truly admired him. Please help us by giving one of our own the honor of having his childhood street named after him .
Please help us make this happen ..
For Pete's Sake .
