I support Casey McElroy and ask the SANFL to make a rule change to include Women.
We hereby oppose the 4 week ban handed down by the SANFL Tribunal to Casey McElroy on 18th June 2019. The penalty is grossly excessive to say the least. We believe the Rules need to be changed so that Women like Casey are allowed to play in a Men's Competition. Casey will now miss the 1st 4 rounds of the LCWFL competition where Casey is the reigning Medalist. The Women's competition only runs for 8 weeks so Casey's ban is in fact half the season. The length of the ban is just plain wrong.
With many Country Towns no longer having Football Teams due to a lack of numbers I see no reason why an adult female cannot play for a Club. Football Clubs in Country SA are the centre piece of a lot of small communities and when they no longer have a Football Club a significant part of the Town & Community dies and is lost forever.
Please show your support of Casey by signing this petition. Please be aware that the Padthaway Football Club were fined $1,000 + $1,000 suspended for allowing Casey to play.
I, Peter Buckle am the author and starter of this petition and I am not associated with any Football Club overseen by the SANFL or any other League in South Australia.
