Der deutsche Fußball zeigt, warum eine Teilnahme von Zweitvertretungen im regulären Spielbetrieb kontraproduktiv für die sportliche Entwicklung der Spieler und der gesamten Liga ist. Konkurrenz mag hier sicherlich gegeben sein, doch es findet dank der komplett unterschiedlichen Trainingsbedingungen und dem Einsatz von Rekonvaleszenten Profi-Spielern eine Verzerrung der wahren sportlichen Bedingungen statt. Darüber hinaus sind Zweitvertretungen in wirtschaftlicher Hinsicht nicht nur viel teurer zu stemmen, sondern generieren bei den anderen Vereinen weniger Einnahmen aus Gästefankontingenten, als bei eigenständigen Vereinen.

We need to maintain the traditions and the balance. The change would create even a stronger divide between the premier and other leagues.

The pyramid system allows non-league football teams to progress rather than stacking the odds in favour of the big teams.

As a former Class 1 soccer referee operating at Football League it's not really a 'game' any longer. This latest Greg Dyke scheme is another 'one arm' bandit money making ploy.
