Ever since in thehistory of Africa the case about Food Sovereignty realization in the region has never been threatened as it is in Kenya today. This is after the legalization of GM food stuffs. 

The right of people to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through Ecologically Sound and Sustainable Means has been compromised. Human being are from creation obligated to have as Food all the herbs bearing seeds which are upon the face of all the earth and every tree upon which is the fruit of a tree bearing seed. What is a seed? A seed is a basic source of life, a seed is referred to as a seed when it can reproduce an offspring of the same kind as the parents, generation after generation. Most of the genetically modified organisms have seeds which either can not germinate, or if germinate can not produce and if produce, produce what can not produce the following generation.

This makes our farmers slaves of agro-firms, seed companies, fertilizers and pesticides companies. Farmers will have no mandate over seed anymore. Seed diversity, indigenous seeds and biodiversity will be hard no more.

Then what are this Genetically Modified Organisms GMOs? If it is not what the creater obligated the only reasoning creature on earth, human beings "to you, they shall be for food!"? What is it then, lab food? Artificial Food, Man-made food?. Who knows?

The products are now in our shelves, supermarket shelves and stores, groceries and on the table as food. IT'S OUR ROLE TO SAFEGUARD WHAT OUR PEOPLE AFRICA HAS AS FOOD. We plead with the government to ban the GM food stuffs and encourage, empower and educate our people on Food Sovereignty. This will bring our people Africa together in sharing of farming ideas, seeds, skills, experience and in trading amongst Africa. This has power on people than legalization of GMOs.
