Carrageenan is a food additive that is commonly used to thicken or improve the texture of foods such as soy milk, ice cream, yogurt, and even canned pet food. The problem is that Dr. Joanne K. Tobacman from the University of Illinois College of Medicine has found in her research that carrageenan is linked with cancer and gastrointestinal problems. She found that carrageenan causes inflammation in our bodies. Inflammation causes heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's, and more. She also found that it caused glucose intolerance, and insulin resistance in mice, which increases the risk of diabetes. Why do we need this additive in foods??? Let's get them to use something else!
