Why this petition matters
Palm Oil production destroys Orangutan habitats.
The palm oil itself isn't bad it’s the deforestation to plant these trees that ruins habitats.
Palm Oil is in around 50% of supermarket products. The oil is usually labelled as vegetable oil, so people don’t know they're consuming it.
Palm oil is still a major driver in deforestation of some to the world’s most bio-diverse forests. this has led to the endangering of the Orangutan, Pygmy elephant, Sumatran rhino and many other unique species.
50,000 orangutans have died due to the palm oil production.
A way to help this cause is to make sustainable palm oil that is grown on property and not the destroyed rain forests. Companies have to own up to using palm oil and label it on their products so that people are aware they are consuming it.
