Stop Animal Abuse and Antibiotic-Resistant Disease Spreading in U.S. Factory Farm System

During the 1950's the U.S. food industry began a shift to higher efficiency production techniques, eliminating the small, green pasture farms that many people still envision today. Of the 10 billion animals that are tortured every year, 97% of these animals are on farms. Unfortunately, due to weak laws and guidelines, the factory farming industry has been able to mistreat and harm animals in many unethical ways that the American public is unaware or negligent of. Factory farming does not only hurt the animals being slaughtered, but also puts consumers of the meat being produced by these farms at risk as irresponsible handling of antibiotics has led to severe growth of resistant diseases. 76 million people in the U.S. become sick due to food borne illnesses and 90,000 of those infected will die each year. Sign this petition to express your dissatisfaction with the gross misconduct taking place in the U.S. factory farm system and to demand reform.
