Andy Good started this petition to Food and Drug Administration and

I have been an unfortunate victim of random asthma attacks. They are triggered by allergic reactions. Animals, vapes, camp fires, etc. Although they are few and far between, when triggered, they are life threatening.

On a few occasions in the past years I have had weight of an elephant come crashing on my chest. Whether a two hour drive from my home, a holiday party or a concert venue. I’ve been stranded from a puff of an inhaler. My wife panics, she asks around, asks people, even fire fighters and police, had no means to help. I had not carried nor had access to any rescue inhalers. Because it’s not a daily occurrence, I was not prepared. Maybe it’s my fault, but I cannot help but think “one puff” could have saved the agony that pursues.

One occurrence, I had no inhaler, not out and about, not at home. I was forced to message my primary care doctor in an attempt to get written a prescription. He denied and wanted me to come in for my annual check up prior to my new prescription. I spent 18 hours with short breath and an fight just to pursue a puff. A single puff, would have ended the war.

The change I am proposing is not to legalize, or make the entirety of Pro Air inhalers or over the counter, but at the very least I am pushing to a 1-5 puff rescue inhaler as an option.

The most inconceivable part that my wife and I endure is the fact that all I ever need to save myself, is one puff. One small puff to remove that crushing elephant. And with that.... I stand for change.
