Approve treatment for a cancer patient
Chuck Rosenbalm has been diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, so rare that he is only the 23rd case identified by his doctor at Mayo Clinic in 40 years of practice. The recommended treatment is very expensive and Mr. Rosenbalm is not a rich man. He drives a semi for a living. Like most of us, he relies on health insurance to cover major medical expenses. He is currently in the HIPIOWA high-risk insurance program. This high-risk pool provides coverage at a high price. The premiums are 150% of the average cost of the top five insurers. Chuck has been paying one and one half times what any healthy person would pay, but is being denied coverage! The insurance refuses to pay for treatments not approved by the FDA. This form of leukemia is rare, but has been identified previously. Why hasn't the FDA approved some form of treatment? Chuck has children and grandchildren that love him very much. His cancer is progressing unchecked due to insurance company rules and government red tape! He is still in the early, more treatable stages of the disease. Please sign our petition! Chuck needs our help to fight this disease! This a link to his online fundraiser: https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/ynh3/chuck-rosenbalm-leukemia-fund?
