Female hygiene products should be free across the whole United States of America. Young women start their period at the youngest age of 9yo. We have over 400 periods in a lifetime. On average after tax we spend over 13$ a month equaling over 3000$ from the start of our period to menopause. Why is it okay for mankind to pocket off our hygiene products? Something we are naturally born with shouldn’t be used against us forcing us to make others rich off of womanhood. We didn’t ask to have a period every month for almost half of our lives. Some of us have 2 period a month. We can’t put a stop to it. What do you do if you are 9-16 years old with no job? In most states, you can’t work legally until you are 16yo. Between 9-16 we have no way of buying these products or our own. Even worse, for then young girls who have no one to buy the female hygiene products for us ? This causing room for embarrassing accidents and body odors leading to bullying causing a young girl to be uncomfortable in her own skin. This also leading to criminal actions, theft. There should be free female hygiene products in all stores, school, clinics, and doctors offices. Being a young woman with changing body parts is already difficult. Why make it harder by making us pay for hygiene products at an age where we can’t even get a job? I look at my baby girl as she kissed my hand while taking her birthday pictures of turning 3 years old. How can I make her life as a young girl transitioning into a women easier when the time comes, how can I protect her rights as a woman? This is a start.
