I am tired. Tired of companies passing as gluten free while making celiac disease sufferers sick. Of products that are labeled gluten free with no mention of possible wheat contamination. Tired of an FDA that is not compatible with my disease. Tired of looming infertility, miscarriage, vomiting, diarrhea, debilitating intestinal cramps, joint pain and cancer just name a few of the many symptoms that are a result of lack of safety measures infrequent quality testing and of products that are misrepresented. Currently companies labeled gluten free are assuming their products to be gluten free without testing as long as they are not specifically using gluten ingredients. Their products can be exposed to gluten products on shared factory equipment and include unintentional gluten and wheat partials. Certified gluten free labeling standards only are required to test annually once their initial testing has been established as gluten free under 20 parts per million. That leaves an entire year of possibly changing ingredient vendors, factories and equipment without testing to confirm under 20 parts per million. With this petition we are Demanding The Removal Of Gluten Free Labeling From Products That May Contain Gluten To Create Clear And Comprehensive Labeling For People Suffering From Celiac Diseases. IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE
