Next Step: Contact Your Reps!

Hi All,

1,000+ signatures in 2 days! Thank you all for your support! I've shared the petition with the FDA, as well as Senators Klobuchar (MN) and Warner (VA), who have children who have food allergies. Some allergy advocacy groups are meeting with the FDA as well and one in particular, FARE, is recommending concerned individuals leave comments for the FDA here: https://snip.ly/yburvg#https://www.regulations.gov/comment?D=FDA-2020-D-1139-0009

The next steps you can take are as follows:

1. Share the petition! The more signatures these decision-makers see, the better! Share on social media, in emails, in groups...

2. Contact the FDA -- you can email Lynn.Szybist@fda.hhs.gov and reference docket number FDA-2020-D-1139 with the full title of the Guidance: Temporary Policy Regarding Certain Food Labeling Requirements During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency: Minor Formulation Changes and Vending Machine Guidance for Industry -- or you can use the form indicated above.

3. Contact your local Congresspeople and senators. Contact Senators Klobuchar and Warner as well, since they have fought for people with food allergies before. If you are from Minnesota or Virginia, even better -- forward this to friends/contacts who are direct constituents.

4. Pass along the information. The media is only beginning to cover this change, so people with food allergies or other food-triggered medical conditions may not get the information. If we are not successful in getting an amendment, people need to know. Every person you tell is a potential life you have saved.

Thank you!!!
