I believe that we should be allowed to wear hats in the school. Many people enjoy wearing hats because they add to outfits, look cool, and help on bad hair days. I know many students would very much enjoy the addition of hats to Folsom.

     Now, I have heard that one big problem and the reason schools don’t allow hats is identification. Seeing as our school is so small I do not think that is an issue. We can have other students easily identify classmates by their outfits or body structure. Another issue that I have heard is that it distracts people in class. However, if everyone has a hat on it would not be a distraction because it would not be out of the ordinary. You can make restrictions such as the hats not being too tall or too crazy. Last excuse I have heard is that it is an antisocial act. “They tend not to be allowed as they can be seen as an antisocial act (aka: hiding behind them)” (www.quora.com This is false. A kid wearing a baseball cap or a beanie would not be hiding behind it unless it is over their face or covering up any part of their face (such as a hood would do).

     These are the reasons I believe hats should be allowed at folsom school. Feel free to critique my reasoning and or give me evidence as to why they should not be allowed. There are many more reasons they should be allowed this is just scratching the surface. Have a nice day.
