Move in cost and monthly rent is no longer affordable or reasonable in the state of Florida. Especially, South Florida, and more specifically Dade & Broward Counties.

Citizens are expected to pay rental fees that are far more than 30% of the average families income. Dual parent households are living check to check, while many single parent families and even singles need roommates in order to survive. 

In addition to the unreasonable rental amounts, landlords are requesting first, last, plus security for move in. Living check to check doesn't allow much room to save funds for a rainy day much less 3 months rent for a place of equal or greater value. Some are downsizing and still struggle to gather 3 months rent. 

We ask that the rental laws be reconsidered and regulations put in place with the reality of living conditions in the State of Florida
