I am a college student who went through the process and the work to try for bright futures. It is unfair for other students to miss out on this. I would not be able to go to college without grants and scholarships. That is a blessing that should continue to be given to students who work for it.

Students who have worked hard and achieved good grades should be rewarded a scholarship with no strings attached. Let them study what their heart is leading them to.

It is extremely important to A students who require assistance while their parents work, pay taxes and struggle to just get by paycheck to paycheck.

Cutting funding for scholarships in Florida is just plain wrong.

My future plans directly correlate to the amount of money I can save for getting started in ‘the real world’. Another note- I’ve only given college this level of effort because of bright futures, without it myself and many others I know wouldn’t care as much and several would drop out and get a low level jobs instead citing that college isn’t worth the cost.

Why make changes to a program that is working!!!! I personally know multiple families whose children are benefiting from this scholarship program as is. Kids have worked very hard to meet the requirements and should be able to take advantage of the benefits they have earned through the Bright Futures Scholarship. Instead of encouraging higher education and attracting kids to attend FL schools the proposed changes will drive talented kids away. Personally my daughter would have gone to school out of state but not having to incur student loans was the main reason she stayed in state.

Bright futures is how thousands of underprivileged youth are able to achieve the goal of attending college, if you stop funding it any more than it already is so many more will slip through the cracks.

I live in Indiana and have a huge scholarship for majoring in studio art. This is not okay. I don't want this to happen to my state and I couldn't imagine living in Florida and this passing.
