The problem that should be resolved is that the the House Education and Employment Committee has passed what is known as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, where it will now move forward to the Judiciary committee. The bill states that a school district has the right to not teach sexual orientation or gender identity and if they find out if someone is gay or apart of the LGBTQIA+ community then they will contact a guardian or parent and out then to said person. Representative Joe Harding is the sponsor of this bill and wants to let parents have the right to control their child’s education and what they learn in school.
