I’m starting this petition because, my 16 year old daughter doesn’t have her permit, but I just don’t have the time to take her to her job anymore, she needs to be able to get there on her own. Lots of teens get their drivers permit late. It can be really difficult for teens to get a drivers permit. Sometimes parents just don’t have the time to take their children to get their permit. It can be really difficult, but eventually the kids have to drive somewhere when their parents are busy. Usually teens start to get jobs around age 16, it’s really hard for them to get to and from work if they don’t have a license to drive themselves, Getting to and from school can be hard as well if the teens have working parents. I feel as if teens should be able to take a driving test that allows them to drive to work, school, and after school sports once they turn 16, without having their drivers permit. It would make my life a lot easier, and I’m positive it would make a lot of other parents lives easier as well. This also gives teens a chance to learn responsibility, a license is a big responsibility. Teens need to learn how to take advantage of their license instead of abusing the privilege. That’s why i think this could be issued as a “first license” or even a “temporary license” until they are able to get a “permanent license” . I think this is a great idea so they are still able to drive where they need to go, but still have restrictions. This would allow teens to get where they need to go, without causing accidents!
