Vote NO to HB 419
This petition made change with 259 supporters!
This petition serves to voice the objections, concerns and frustrations of the many people who utilize Tiger Bay State Forest, specifically the “Rima Ridge Unit” of Tiger Bay.
Those of us that use Rima Ridge on a consistent basis i.e.: Equestrians, Hikers, Bird Watchers, Nature Lovers, bicyclists, joggers, Hunters, Fisherman etc….do not want off road vehicles (as stated in HB 419) allowed in our State Forest for the following reasons:
Disturbing the tranquility that we enjoy when pursuing our various interests.
The negative impact these off road vehicles would cause to the land.
It is too dangerous to mix off road vehicles with the type of activities that are currently enjoyed at this time.
Rima Ridge is part of the Florida “Trail Trotter and Trail Walking Hiker Program”
We agree the State Forests should be open to everyone, but not all hobbies and interests are compatible on the same tract of land. Tiger Bay is large enough to accommodate everyone, so long as the environment is not put at risk from those activities.
Various articles have been published in the past regarding the detriment to lands that been opened to this type of activity.
Thank You for your time and attention to this very important matter.
