Allow my Granddaughter to be with her Family

My daughter died a few weeks ago leaving behind her 2-year-old in foster care. Her dying request was that Gabrielle be raised by her Grandmother who is also raising her 13-year-old son. The foster family has placed an unbearable burden on our family by wanting to adopt Gabrielle because she has lived with them for this time. The GAL (Guardian Ad Litum) who represents the interests of the child recommended the foster family as the ones who should adopt Gabrielle. Her recommendation has no basis as the Grandmother has an approved home study. The Judge is also leaning towards giving the child to the foster family. This is an outrage!!!
One of Florida's First Lady Ann Scott's campaigns is to encourage adoption. In this case, Gabrielle has a family who is ready willing and able to adopt. Why should a foster family in Florida be allowed to pick and choose those children they want to adopt when the child has loving relatives? There are 14,000 children in Florida's foster care. Gabrielle need not be one of them!!
All state and federal laws point to the reunification of children with their families especially with a sibling. Please sign our petition and help us bring this tragedy to a positive ending.
Our family pleads with the Govenor Rick Scott and the First Lady Ann Scott to intervene before May 2nd, the next court date.
