Make Jim Morrison’s childhood home a museum

Make Jim Morrison’s childhood home a museum
On February 8, 2022, it was announced that the late Jim Morrison’s childhood home was put on sale for $2.5M.
Jim Morrison was the extraordinary lead singer of one of the greatest rock bands of all time - The Doors. During their run from 1965-1971, they revolutionized Psychedelic Rock, Blues, and most importantly Rock. From radio hits like “Light My Fire”, to the 11 minute epic song “The End”, the power of The Doors still holds today.
Instead of the house being bought by another seller that will make it a private property, I sincerely hope that we gain enough attention to make Jim Morrison’s childhood home a museum. Sure, maybe the things from his childhood may not be there anymore, but the presence of his genius will always remain there. This is where “The Lizard King”, “Mr. Mojo Risin’” and of course, James Douglas Morrison grew up. Where he ate dinner, watched T.V, and slept, all before he sprouted into fruition and became Jim Morrison, the electric shaman.
To us Doors fans, their music holds a special place in our hearts. From the experiences we’ve gotten from their music, to the inspiration Jim Morrison gave us, to the motivation for many people to pick up music, we sincerely believe that The Doors are an important band in musical history.
Please sign it, share the petition, and let’s get the attention of the Governor of Florida, President Joe Biden, VP Kamala Harris, so we can turn Jim Morrison’s childhood home into a museum.
