FIU continuously sweeps under the rug incidents that happen on our campus. Last Tuesday, a woman was Sexually Assaulted ON FIU’s MMC campus by a Miami FC Soccer Player. Within this same week on Saturday, FIU allowed for The Miami FC to play at our Riccardo Silva Football Stadium. The fact that FIU did not cancel this game and make a statement. Along with offering resources to those who may have been triggered by this situation speaks on the Universities true values. FIU has time and time again refused to consider the feelings of their students, faculty, and staff. The president of FIU and the police paid to protect us has failed to make proper statements and ensure that less of these incidents happen. We, as FIU’s Student body have a right to feel heard and safe on the campus in which we dedicate ourselves to. This is one of the MANY issues that face FIU’s campus. Not enough money is put into mental health manners and  Black students on campus do NOT feel included in anything. FIU continues to spend ridiculous amounts of money on unnecessary projects. And, International Students are struggling to pay for school, to say the least. FIU we are TIRED and NEED change IMMEDIATELY.
