My son died in a house where he was abused by his wife.  There was no investigation, the detectives bought her story even after they were told she beat him.  She also gave him meds that were never tested prior to his death.  She had changed her clothes, the ones she was wearing were never tested either.  We have launched an investigation into his death, and our investigator believes there is much more to the story, but because of the Dale Earnhardt law, we are blocked from having access to our sons records...only his 'wife' can get them, and of course we are estranged from her.  This law, though the intention was understandable, has blocked parents from having access to important documentation that may point to a killer.  I am asking that this law be amended to read that parents and siblings have access to these important documents.
