I've been in the Fire Service for over 20 years and have seen a lot of changes. Most recently there is a concern for the unprovoked attacks on public safety personnel. I am proposing that legal concealed carry public safety personnel be exempt from the "off limits" places while on duty, with the exception of jails and courthouses. If the law is changed it would allow all public safety personnel the ability to protect themselves and their crews while answering calls for service, wherever it may take us. We are there to to take care of you or your loved ones, is it too much to ask that we be able to protect ourselves if we find ourselves in harms way? Changing this law could potentially save the lives of the ones you call to save the lives of your family or loved ones.
