Right now, Florida needs to majorly restructure its electricity market. Consumers are stripped of their freedom to choose a particular electricity provider, as major utility giants control the market. As a result, electricity bills are unjustly increased and consumers in Florida are being affected by it. Furthermore, utility companies are putting restrictions on renewable energy options such as solar panels and net-metering. By signing The Florida Energy Choice Initiative, you can help:

1. Lower electricity and utility costs
2. Create thousands of jobs
3. Increase renewable energy options
4. Attract new businesses to the state
5. Increase finances in rural areas

The Florida Energy Choice Initiative is a petition that is meant to grant consumers the right to choose their electricity provider by widening the market through competition. Competition is necessary to help drive down costs, eliminate the current monopoly status of utility companies in Florida, and allow consumers to produce electricity for themselves. 

There are currently about 550,000 signatures, but 766,200 total signatures are needed by February 1, 2020 for the petition to be in the 2020 ballot. By signing the petition, you can contribute to changing Florida’s electricity market.
