Giana Aguilar started this petition to Florida Department of Education and

We the class of 2020 should be granted the right to graduate, we shouldn't have to worry about graduating during a pandemic. Finishing online for the fourth quarter is unreasonable for seniors. We have done face-to-face classes from the beginning of high school for the last 15 quarters,  7 semesters, and all together 677 days of the school year’s. Class of 2020 did not get to experience prom, graduation ceremony, grad-bash, and other senior events. We deserve just a sense of stability and peace. Those who are in good standing have proven themselves to be good students, for the past 15 quarters, meeting graduation requirements and possibly even exceeding those graduation requirements. Class of 2020 did not experience senior year like it is supposed to.  Some of us came to this world just before, during, or after 9/11. Some of us have turned the age of majority and will be granted the right to vote this year, that's if elections continue. We did not spend sleepless nights or study for hours on those end-of-course exams, SAT,  ACT, and midterm exams to not graduate. We were the first class to start digital learning, we started with Google classroom, then went to Canvas, and now combined Canvas with Skyward. What we ask of you is not something Substantial. It is the least you can do for the Class of 2020 with only 43 days left of school from the day we stopped going. We ask that you join along with other states such as Alabama and Arkansas, by allowing those seniors in good standing to be considered to have met graduation requirements to be considered graduated. And with that, we ask you to sign and spread the news to help the Florida Class of 2020. Help the class of 2020 to end with clarity and promise for the future. #Classof2020

I would also like to credit my friends: Ahna Andrews and Bianca Ovalles for helping me think of this idea.
