On August 12, 2020, Florence Police Department patrol officers responded to the North Alabama Medical Center, Emergency Room at 11:25pm, regarding the death of a 3-year-old male, Kaiden Garner. It was initially reported and believed that Kaiden’s death was possibly due to heat exposure. Medical records show that Kaiden was transported from the 1300 block of Carver Circle to NAMC, by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead. Preliminary Autopsy Reports show that Kaiden’s death resulted from blunt force trauma.

Florence Police Departments investigation confirmed that Kaiden was visiting with his father in the days leading up to his death. Witnesses have confirmed that Kaiden, his father, and others were in the area of the 1300 block of Carver Circle on the night of his death. This area is a common gathering place for members of the community and it is believed that other members of our community may have been in the area and may have important information to our ongoing investigation. The community’s assistance was critical to this investigation and unfortunately we didn’t get answers we we’re looking for. Our hope is that the community will find it in their hearts to sign our petition to ask FPD to not close this case. We ask they further investigate, as our family is not satisfied with the “child abuse” charge seeing how Ms.Pride was in fact an accessory at least.
