As residents of the Timrod Park Historic Neighborhood, we would like to promote the highest possible quality of life, safety, and well being for our residents and families. 459 West Pine Street is a dangerous and dilapidated structure located on the corner of West Pine Street and Warley Street. This structure does not abide by city codes, and has not been inhabited or maintained in at least 15 years. This dwelling is in major disrepair and poses a significant safety risk for the children and families living in the Timrod Park Community. Along with these safety risks, it also disenfranchises the economic growth and the historical assets of our community and Florence's downtown development efforts as a whole. 459 West Pine Street turns away potential home buyers looking to invest in the closest neighborhood to downtown's revitalization efforts, and it also creates a financial drain on our tax payers. We ask City Council, Code Enforcement, and Florence City Planning and Development to take action to ensure and maintain our public health, safety, and welfare by addressing this abandoned structure. We urge you to please keep our families safe and maintain the value of our beautiful community.
