We have been made aware that only part of Thornaby cemetery has been installed with a drainage system to prevent flooding/water logging issues. Upon visiting the cemetery to visit the grave of my late grandfather, it has become clear that this section of the cemetery has not benefitted from a water drainage system, and the graves in this area have become waterlogged. (The section I am referring to is the majority Muslim section of the cemetery). This is an issue as it poses a danger on people visiting their loved ones; the risk of falls is significant, especially with the elder members of the community.

We would like Stockton Borough Council to establish a proper drainage system in the cemetery grounds to ensure efficient drainage of water to prevent flooding.
