In recent years, a lot of rainfall has caused excess of water and due to poor water management, areas such as Mount Druitt has been severly affected.

In the February and July floods, several families lost their homes to the flood waters. Some were lucky to have an alternative shelter but others had nowhere to go and had to stay in their flood damaged homes.

Had the authorities taken a more proactive approach, the damages could have been avoided.

This petition is for the initiation of a flood water management project whereby council or the parliament should upgrade the water management facilities to prevent further floods in Mount Druitt.
