My fellow students, 

This year has been incredibly hard for all of us, but one aspect that has allowed us a moment to destress, catch up on much-needed sleep, and get ahead on schoolwork is having asynchronous Wednesdays. As a senior, almost every aspect of what was supposed to be a great year has been taken away from us. In its place, we have been faced with unprecedented changes to our school and social lives. Furthermore, some teachers and administrators fail to recognize the fact that we students are struggling and need these Wednesdays as a means to stay on top of our work and allow us a moment to catch our breath. Now, as we reach the fourth quarter of our school year, the school administration wants to take away our asynchronous day and in its place, implement morning classes beginning at 8:20 am. As seniors, we have vocalized our feelings about these Wednesdays yet clearly our opinions have been disregarded. As Flint Hill students, we have been taught to stand up for what we believe in and to not let our voices be unheard. Therefore, all I ask is that each and every one of you who believes in this cause takes 10 seconds to sign this petition and help implement a much-needed change. This is our opportunity to tell the school that despite the hardships that this year has brought us, we will not stand idly by when our opinions are completely disregarded. I hope we can band together as a Flint Hill community to raise our voices and show that even 6 feet apart, we can unite on a common belief in order to make changes we want to see.
