It's important because the language needs to live if the culture is to survive.

It is important to continue teaching Itaian and having the Itaian language available to all those that want to learn it.

It is a disgrace that the program is being cut. The Federal government has reformed the cost of humanities degrees and that has had an obvious impact on the cost to students. Languages must be taken seriously for the continued diverse multi cultural society that we proudly live in.

Ho due nipotini che vivono in sud Australia, spero che se vogliono possono studiare lingua e cultura della loro terra di origine.

If you don't have the numbers do your community a favour and invite U3A students of Italian to study there. We love our classes in Italian. Other universities offer accommodation for our classes as part of the local community. Grazie e buona fortuna.

I am very concerned about the closure of language departments. I believe that Swinburne University has closed the Italian Dept. I cannot verify this. The Humanities are under attack everywhere. Keep languages alive.

I am a proud Italian who sadly cannot speak any, and can't communicate with my family in Napoli.
So I want to learn and others to as well.
