Howdy Flinders Medical Centre (FMC),
Am a working pregnant women (36 weeks) and mother of 5 years old, and from past 6 months i have been checking up with Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide for my pregnancy. Every time when i go there i need wait for an hour or two, may be sometimes more than that. To give you an example, if my appointment is at 10:15 AM, i reach hospital at 10:00 AM, and I will be called after an hour (11:30 or 12 PM). When i asks about this delays in the front desk, all i get to hear was "Doctors are busy, and seeing all the patience, and when i've asked doctors, they say "Nothing much can be done" Due to this rush i don’t think so we have been consulted properly, and most of time we rush to go out as quickly as possible. So in summary for 5 minutes of consultation you need to wait for 2 hours.
Being a pregnant women i cant sit longer, its hard, and catching a bus back to home or work around this summer time its very hard! My hospital visits are always been terrible, though my pregnancy is going to end soon, however i don’t want any other future pregnant women to go through this.
Is this how FMC women and children's hospital functions? Less doctors? No funds? If you think its going to delay or take time, then you are providing a false information on your notice board "Waiting time for clinic is 30 minutes". Hope this could change.
