I personally believe that the Kent School District is overstepping in terms of school filtering, and they won't listen to anybody in terms of resolving this issue. 

75% of Youtube is blocked for example, Outlook/Gmail is blocked on the web, and even Wikipedia is blocked. Youtube and Wikipedia are educational resources used by both students and teachers alike, and yet their excuse is people being able to find "bad stuff" on there.

Yeah, people will find holes in the filter, but that is however not an excuse to perform censorship, only giving us district approved materials. We should have the freedom to learn what we want.

Not every student has access to resources at home to be able to educate themselves, and so this is therfore severely restricting their knowledge and leaving them uninformed about things such as current events, safety, the world, and more.

Not only that, but Wikipedia has repeatedly been used in classes in the past as a great starting point for researching various things, with even my own history teacher approving of the website.

As shown in the past, the district obviously refuses to listen to our cries and pleads. Teachers, students, and parents are all frustrated with the changes.

We ask that you revert to the previous years filter settings, or at the least modify the current ones to not be so incredibly restrictive.
