Millbrook Highdchool's new dress code is incredibly sexist and solely aimed towards girls and feminine presenting people. 49 girls were dress coded by 9am on Monday. Some individuals were dress coded despite fitting into the dress codes criteria. This dress code also makes room for singling out and shaming girls in our school based on features we cannot control. Millbrook also likes to pose this dress code as a way to keep from losing learning time, yet will hold students who are potentially violating the dress code for as much as an hour just for a change of clothing. It makes no sense that millbrook makes learning time so important, yet it will cut off a students learning time over a piece of fabric. We shouldn't be spending our school year worrying about if our clothing is going to be okay or not. The dress code is only hurting and shaming students at Millbrook and it needs to be fixed. We hoped that in making this petition, the corrupt dress code will be acknowledged and changed.
