The people of Kingsford Heights have PO Boxes instead of a mail drop or mailbox at their property. This wouldn’t be an issue if the post office was open 24/7 so we could get our mail out of the PO Boxes. They say they can’t leave it open for “security reasons”. That is not a valid complaint since it’s 2022 and high quality cameras and security systems exist. They say they are open “adequate hours” but are only open full service 12-4 Monday through Friday and then 9-11 on Saturdays. The post office is now threatening that if the PO Box number isn’t on the mail, it will be sent back because they “Don’t have time”. The people of this town and every town for that matter deserve to have access to their mail any time that works for their lives. I’ve been told by multiple people who have lived here longer then myself that they’ve been told it’s not gonna happen. I don’t think a simple “No it’s been this way for years and it works” is a valid answer. Something needs to change, whether that is adding a security system to the post office or adding mail slots to houses.
