Fishing Lake First Nation #89 Petition for Financial Transparency & Accountability

We the members of Fishing Lake First Nation #89 of the signed petition attached, hereby, request the current leadership, Chief Derek Sunshine, Councillors; Steven Sunshine, Fred Brania, Tracey Brania, Darrell Slippery, Darcy Desjarlais, Travis Desjarlais, Colin Labanowich and Enola Kayseas to promptly request a forensic audit from (formerly) Indigenous and Norther Affairs, currently known as Indigenous Services Canada in a timely manner. We are requesting detailed financial accounts of payment received by Chief & Council from Federal Monies for Band Operations including particulars generated from revenue from Land Leases, all business affiliates including the Fishing Lake Store, Nanadowgamik & Dispensary, BHP, contracts paid to Chief & Council and the Band Manager under numbered companies and business entities. We request that this audit go back as far 2015. In requesting this petition we are asserting our inherent rights and our rights to financial transparency and accountability from our Chief & Council. It has come to our attention that certain articles of the Fishing Lake First Nation Personnel Regulations have been violated. Help support & sign the petition.
