A three hour limit is due to start on our free car park at queens square. I propose for a change in this action to support every business in our town. I accept that nothing can stay free forever. How ever there has to be a happy medium to suit all. 
A limited number of permit spaces for staff , for the said businesses who travel from outside our town. 
A free parking for the first hour to allow drop offs and prescription collections etc. An hourly charge after the first hour to help limit long stay without permits, but to aid putting money back into the town for the upkeep of the car park. 
man example of hour the 3 hour no return will affect our town is as follows… I’m a hairdresser, our clients visit our salon for sometimes a 3-4 hours appointment, longer if having beauty treatments as well as hair. They will have lunch in our town or a coffee prior to the appointment or after. They will have a browse in our shops. None of this will now take place! This has suddenly with one person alone, impacted up to possibly 5 businesses?! Multiply that by the amount of daily people that will now not be able to do all this and you have a major impact on our town! The footfall will instantly reduce NOT increase as they say it will. Businesses will close , people will disperse. Please , please , support this petition and save our town and the very heart of what we all work so hard to achieve for our community.
