Rick Batty started this petition to Firework suppliers & government

In the past Bofire night was special it happened on just one or two days a year. You knew when to keep your pets safely in.  You appreciated that it was a celebration of a historical event. Now they are annoying, Bonfire night is no longer special, it is a nuisance. I bet a good few of the people who use them now don't know the its historical importance.  They are too easily obtained for misuse by the uneducated of today, who use them for their amusement like frightening pets in the park and or throwing them at moving cars. Lets make bofire night special again. They should be restricted for sale or collection until the 4th or 5th of November. It should be unlawful to use them after or before 4th to the 6th of November.  A similar rule should be put in place for New year's eve as well. If you know when these fireworks are going to go off people with illnesses like autism, pdsd or noise sensitivity know when to prepare. Somekind of legislation should be put in place for people who do firework display so they can go ahead their magnificent displays.  I know a lot of people are heading to a total ban on public sale of fireworks but I feel this is a step too far. I in the past enjoyed the family bonfire with properly cooked jacket potatoes & bonfire toffee. In  them days it was a sprinkling of fireworks but more important it was a family get together to celebrate or remember depending on your opinion of guy fawkes night.
