Firebirds: Keep Your Cage-Free Commitment!

Firebirds: Keep Your Cage-Free Commitment!

The Issue

In 2017, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill pledged to transition to 100% cage-free eggs by 2018. Since then, the company has taken down its policy and refuses to report its cage-free status publicly.

Firebirds claims that its mission is to “serve, enrich, and exceed.” However, by not publicly reporting it’s cage-free progress, Firebirds is not only wronging the hens who are crammed in tiny, wire cages for its eggs, but it’s lagging behind its competitors including The Capital Grille and The Cheesecake Factory which have all reported and fulfilled their 100% cage-free status.

Hens in the egg industry who are confined to cages suffer horrific cruelty. They live in a space that’s about the size of an iPad and aren’t able to fully extend their limbs for the duration of their miserable lives. They can’t perch or properly nest either, which is detrimental to their health and well-being.

Firebirds CEO Steve Kislow, along with other Firebirds leadership, are failing animals and their customers by refusing to report the company’s cage-free progress.

Firebirds, it’s time to end the sourcing of eggs from archaic cages as promised 7 years ago! You claim to offer “upscale dining,” but using eggs from tortured hens is anything but “upscale.” Animals and your consumers are counting on you to do the right thing and stop supporting animal suffering.

Please email Firebird's Leadership at the below email addresses and urge them to switch to cage-free eggs!
