The problem is students feel unsafe and unheard. We feel racially targeted and we are being suspended over a pass. We got kicked out and threatened to call the cops on us, they just wouldn’t listen to us when all we were doing was finding a way to get home. Students are getting consequences for standing up for themselves and their friends.

They have us students scared to even walk the halls of the school without being targeted. We feel we don’t have rights anymore for our own safety in the this school that’s supposed to protect us. when we dont speak, we’re labeled as “rude” and when we do speak we’re “disrespectful” they try to keep us quiet and try talking away our first amendment right.

There’s been multiple students that threaten other students, bring weapons, and even assault the teachers. Yet they still target POC for not following a hallway rule. One of my friends alr has her scholarship on the line over standing up for herself and it’s not right that their not only targeting POC but also great students that aren’t even incapable of being in those positions.

This place no longer feels like a school for education, but more a of a place where students are unheard and unsafe.
