The majority of us NC State fans have had and seen enough. There is no point in giving a coach who has had the same problems and weaknesses on his teams the past 5 years. The investigation scandal, injuries and whatever else excuse there is, have had no effect on Keatts’ inability to lead our basketball team through his lack of willingness to make proper adjustments, unwillingness to take accountability for mistakes, inability to run offensive plays/schemes, inability to develop players, meltdowns late in close games, etc.. Kevin Keatts has a major ego that he is unwilling to let go of or bring down. This was shown the moment he was hired when he declared himself a winner before winning a single thing, which he still has yet to come close to doing. When he received lots of criticism for calling the timeout when Seabron was in transition with 10 seconds left in the game and we ended up not scoring out of the timeout and lost the game, he straight up said he would do it again. He said this years team would be a top 25-30 team with Manny Bates. Manny Bates is a great player and would help out some but his absence isn’t part of our biggest weaknesses and problems. This statement was completely a joke when we are sitting at the bottom of the conference and the conference is in one of its worst years as of late. Bates was not even a preseason All-ACC player. Keatts is trying very hard to keep his job with his comments and excuses which some of the casual fans fall for. Just because he is charismatic does not mean he is a good basketball coach. There are even former NC State players who recognize these coaching issues with the team and who have spoken out about it. After Wednesday’s loss to Wake Forest, Casey Morsell even spoke out about the teams issues citing “selfish basketball.” "We’ve got to fix our mistakes. We can’t just keep addressing them and pointing them out...Fix those mistakes. If we don’t, it’s going to keep being the same result." "You don't get trophies for competing for 20, 25 minutes. You've gotta compete for the entire game." -- Casey Morsell

Our ceiling with Keatts as a coach has proven to be a team on the bubble for the NCAA tournament and our floor is finishing at the bottom of the conference. That is not something worth giving another year to. Going through this for another season is a waste of a season when we know what the outcome will most likely be. It would be best to make the change this offseason and rebuild the program now before the hole gets dug deeper. There will be even less attendance and support for the team next year if they are still coached by Keatts and it’s not fair for the players. This year has caused a lot of angst for many fans. 

A good majority of Wolfpack Nation would be willing to donate or do whatever necessary to help contribute to pay the cost to buyout Kevin Keatts and hire a new coaching staff. We want this as fans because we care. It would be greatly appreciated if Boo Corrigan and the Wolfpack Athletics Administration could hear us out and let us know how we can help to make this change possible.
