This paper significantly reduces the influence of local communities on planning matters which will benefit developers
This white paper will significantly reduce the requirements on developers to provide affordable homes which is utterly disgraceful when in fact we should be building more affordable homes.
This white paper gives additional decision making powers to central government instead of to local communities - local communities know their locality better than central government does.

Planning permission should be sought and approved to avoid all unscrupulous development and save the land.

The present Government has already shown how it can go roughshod over local planning decisions. Rather than taking more to the centre, more should be fully able to be agreed or rejected at local level and not able to be changed by big builders who seem to have bottomless purses. Only by local decisions will affordable housing be accelerated, as local authorities know the needs and have the incentive to supply.

These changes remove planning from the local populace into the hands of bureaucrats more interested in profit

We are in danger of riding roughshod over any attempts at conservation and quality of life if there are hardly any controls left over building on our green spaces.

Local councilors and people understand more about local issues. Affordable housing in some areas of the UK is not £200,000!

The proposed bill is reckless and fundamentally flawed in terms of protection of key aspects of the English planning system.
